What is the CAP project?

The Community Ambassador Project (CAP) is an initiative of the Greenbrier County Health Alliance (GCHA), developed with support and funding from the West Virginia Clinical and Translation Science Institute (WVCTSI), The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, and GCHA’s partner: the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine Center for Rural and Community Health.

The goals of the CAP project are to build power in rural communities to improve health/health equity, build partnerships for Community-Engaged Research with the understanding that When true partnerships exist between systems and communities good ideas will flow both directions and support community led rural community health improvement projects and rural leaders.

CAP does this through supporting grassroots and “grasstops” community leaders with workshops, resources, support, and mini-grants.
